      ART DIRECTOR

Forge Graphic Works isn't just a print shop. We're a team of creative thinkers and skilled makers who not only design but also manufacture large-scale retail graphics and immersive brand experiences. From national campaigns for major brands to one-off projects for upstarts and local businesses, we design and build retail activations, influencer seeding kits, event graphics — anything that makes brands unforgettable. We work hard, move fast, and have fun doing it.

We're looking for an Art Director who can think conceptually and execute flawlessly. You'll turn bold ideas into tangible, beautiful things — 3D window displays, seasonal retail campaigns, trade show environments, and physical brand experiences that hit hundreds of stores on tight timelines. You'll spec materials, production methods, and print processes to make sure everything lands perfectly. Retail design experience is a must; SketchUp or similar 3D rendering skills are a plus.

You'll be part creative leader, part hands-on maker. You'll lead brainstorming sessions, pitch ideas to clients, and bring a versatile creative style to the table. Inside the shop, you'll help shepherd projects from concept through manufacturing, working with project managers and account executives to keep deadlines tight, budgets on point, and final art accurate. You'll also contribute to our own brand and marketing vision, showing clients what's possible when design and production live under one roof.

If you're a fast-thinking, hands-on creative who loves seeing your ideas turn into tangible experiences, we want you in our Foundry.

      Responsibilities:

      • Develop and drive the creative vision for consumer-focused retail graphics and displays with strong attention to detail and creative excellence
      • Present your creative vision in client meetings, advocating for bold ideas and innovative solutions
      • Ensure all creative work aligns with client goals and exceeds expectations in quality and impact
      • Collaborate with 2D and 3D designers to evolve our in-house manufacturing offerings — including digital and interactive possibilities
      • Support our internal design team in final file prep for print and 3D projects (product displays, fixtures, retail windows, and large graphic installations)

      Required Skills:

      • Minimum 5+ years agency or corporate design experience
      • Diverse creative thinker and designer with excellent sense of design, typography, and layout, especially at large scale
      • Ability to conceptualize and render 3D design projects including product displays, retail windows, and fixtures
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
      • Mentoring and inspiring designers and production designers
      • Strong knowledge of retail culture and design trends
      • Superior knowledge of design programs and ability to build or oversee final art prep

      We Offer:

      • Fun, creative, and casual work environment
      • Substantial benefits package (medical, dental, vision + 401k w/employer match)
      • High standards of quality and creativity
      • A tight-knit, strong team of employees
      • High profile projects

This is not an entry-level or digital-only design position. We're looking for the right candidate ready to commit to a long-term role. Please send your résumé, cover letter, and hourly/salary requirements along with work samples or a link to your portfolio. Applicants missing any of the above or without relevant retail design experience will not receive a response.
